Neuropsychological Evaluations

By working with students over at least six hours, most often two separate sessions (or more as needed,) I use a set of standardized testing instruments to assess many aspects of functioning to identify how students learn and think.  Analysis of findings allows me to develop concrete plans to enhance strengths and support areas of vulnerability.

The evaluation consists of:

  • Parent intake
  • Testing with the student
  • Collaboration with teachers and other providers, as needed
  • Parent and student feedback sessions
  • Comprehensive written report in a timely manner

As a parent, you will come away with an understanding and appreciation of your child’s learning profile, their strengths and relative vulnerabilities, and how to best address needs.

Your child will come away with an understanding of how they learn best and what are the issues that may get in their way, thus building self-awareness and a greater ability to self-advocate, which highly impacts success.

Specialized Evaluations

There are times when a student has had a previous evaluation and the need arises for additional assessment.

These targeted evaluations can assist with:

  • Monitoring a student’s progress and updating recommendations
  • Gaining a second opinion to help clarify a diagnosis and recommendations
  • Updating testing to fulfill requirements for continued academic accommodations

You will come away with updated information to make decisions and best address your student’s needs.

Consultation

Working with parents, teachers, and other educational specialists assists with the implementation of recommendations.

This can consist of:

  • Review of the evaluation with teaching teams to promote collaboration and common goals
  • Follow-up communication with parents and teachers to address questions/issues that may arise
  • Review of previous evaluations to help determine best steps forward

You can be confident that the implementation of recommendations is collaborative and focused on your child’s needs and potential.
